I liked your video about pyramid schemes, explaining both legitimate and illegitimate opportunities. Unfortunately, too many people are not educated enough to make the distinction so they bash everything as a ‘scam’.

Thanks for the comment.

I have not kept a pulse on WakeUpNow since I wrote that review in February, but the fact that they are still around is a good sign. Generally the safest way to play it is to wait until a company has been around 2-3 years with a good track record. That way you know they have been able to work all the kinks out and if they are still growing they should continue to do so for years to come… (But where’s the fun in waiting to play it safe? )

There are always exceptions however… it’s a good idea to take a pulse on the market that your company is in to see what kind of longevity they have. That’s my biggest reason for not being a huge fan of WakeUpNow… it’s mostly technology based, and technology changes faster than the weather, which can make building a long term income difficult.

Thanks for your comments Jillebean. I’m sure there are a lot of people that will thank you for being brave enough to leave them.

Signing people up is 99% of all network marketers’ “fall back”. The longer that you are around the industry the more you will see that the different opportunities are all actually very similar… the people that are successful in one company are almost always the ones that are successful in the “next big thing”. Likewise, the people that “fail” in one company, will generally get the similar results in the “next big thing”.

It really has very little to do with the company and everything to do with learning the right skill sets. I’m glad you have made your start up cost back already… that is great news, but don’t let it bring you into complacency waiting around for your people to do your job – which is to build your business. Too many people want to sign one or two people up, check out, and get paid for the rest of their lives. Ain’t gonna happen… If you keep working at it though, you may be able to build something that will sustain itself a few years down the road.

OK Jeff, that was your insight and opinion back in Feb 2010 – what is your opinion now? Update us (or at least me) if your insights were on the mark or not. I just got invited to one of those first meetings for wakeupnow and would like some updated info if you have it. I don’t really have any debt, and most of the people I know, or whom I associate with in this very small town, would not and could not put out that kind of money for something that MAY payoff??
